    Sidney Poitier stars as Buck, a trail guide leading former slaves to homesteads in the West. Harry Belafonte is the Preacher, a con-man minister who is forced into helping Buck in his dangerous work. When groups of vicious white men and bounty hunters become hellbent on terrorizing and stopping the wagon trains from heading West, Buck and the Preacher are forced to fight back by any means necessary.
