    Britt MacMasters (Jay Pickett), un marshal américain, revient d'une mission pour trouver son père (Tom Skerritt) blessé et son fils, Chad, kidnappé par le hors-la-loi Jed Blake. Sur leurs traces, Britt forme une troupe avec un adjoint tireur d'élite et un pisteur stoïque Pawnee. Mais Jed et Britt s'aventurent tous deux dangereusement près du territoire Sioux du Désert Rouge, qui représente une menace bien plus grande que ce que l'un ou l'autre peut imaginer.
