    Swept Away

Alright, let's not get carried away - this movie isn't nearly as "terrible" as you might've been led to believe. Sure, the story is straightforward and the original version might be superior, but still. The Italian actor delivers a solid performance and he's definitely easy on the eyes. Madonna, on the other hand, looks like she's aged quite a bit, which is a tad jarring. Putting that aside, the film has its moments and the scenes on the boat and the deserted island are well-executed. That being said, the chemistry between the two leads can be a bit hard to buy at times. In retrospect, I probably would've been less let down if I had just rented this on video instead of catching it in theaters.
